The Hall E of the Vienna Museumsquartier or the Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) have been in the past years, the locations of Austria's most elegant fashion gala. VA 2016 was held in the most beautiful library in the world; the Austrian National Library. In 2018 it took place in the imposing Schönburg Palace and in 2019 in the gorgeous Vienna World Museum.
The awards are presented to national and international audiences from the areas of fashion, society, culture, business with numerous media representatives and offer a unique stage to the best creative people in the country and Europe-wide in the areas of fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
The nominees are selected by an expert committee. The winners from previous years also cast their votes. There is also an audience voting for special categories.
THE CELEBRITIES GALA
The Vienna Awards gala is visited every year by high-profile celebrities in the fashion industry.
Star Models like Karolina Kurkova and Bar Refaeli, Bond- Girl Tonia Sotiropoulou, Style Icon Iris Apfel, Star Moderators Michelle Hunziker and Barbara Schöneberger, Top Model Coco Rocha, Franziska Knuppe and Kiera Sunshine Chaplin, Moderator and Model Rebekka Mir, Icon Jerry Hall, Model Emma Heming Willis, Star Designer Michael Michalsky, Georges Hobeika and Wolfgang Joop etc. have honored the glamorous event in the past years.
The Vienna Awards are announced every year with a campaign in which its focus is a typical Viennese theme. Our previously campaigns have been: the Vienna Ferris (2011), St. Stephen's Cathedral (2012), Sissi (2013) or Mozart's Queen of the night (2014) Our testimonials are top international celebrities like the British model Emma Heming-Willis and the US - American actress and model Jerry Hall.
2016's theme was: "Viennese blood" created by Star photographer Inge Prader and Fashion expert Gerda Buxbaum. The models where from eight different countries and wearing pieces from: Marina Hörmanseder, Schella Kann, Lena Kvadrat, Sophie Skach, Ursi Fürtler, Andrea Maxa Halmschlager and Carolin Holzhuber.
